Final Meeting and Dissemination Conference (ES)

On 13 September, the Final project meeting took place in Valencia (Spain) at FETE-UGV site. On 14 September the project partners participated into the Final Dissemination Conference held at FETE-UGV site, to present the final results of the Project. More than 60 teachers participated to the Conference.

Pixel organizes the third in-training course for teachers and trainers on the potential use of Multimedia and Video Games for educational and training purposes. Three all-day lessons are planned in order to provide the teachers and the trainers involved with the necessary skills to use the New Media for educational purposes.

FH Joanneum organizes the third in-training course for teachers and trainers on the potential use of Multimedia and Video Games for educational and training purposes. Workshops, held on 11/05/2013 and 31/07/2013, are planned in order to provide the teachers and the trainers involved with the necessary skills to use the New Media for educational purposes.

Publication of a paper about the project

A paper about the Play the Learning Game project was published in the International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning (iJET). “This interdisciplinary journal aims to focus on the exchange of relevant trends and research results as well as the presentation of practical experiences gained while developing and testing elements of technology enhanced learning.”

In training course for teachers and trainers in Valencia (ES)

IES Lluis Simarro Lacabra organized on the 27 of April the third in-training course for teachers and trainers on the potential use of Multimedia and Video Games for educational and training purposes. The workshop planned to have 6 sessions of 5 hours; 3 of the sessions would be in-person class, while the rest 3 would be “distance learning”.

Virtual Meeting

On 21 March a virtual conference, hosted by FH JOANNEUM, was conducted. A transnational discussion and exchange of knowledge between Austria and Greece during which the teachers and trainers shared and compared their opinions related to the use of videogames and multimedia for educational purposes took place.

Project meeting in Graz

On 22 and 23 March, the third project meeting took place in Graz (Austria) at FH JOANNEUM. The project partners attended the meeting to jointly evaluate the results achieved so far and to make plans for future developments.

The Manual is now available

The new version of the Manual for the application of Videogames and Multimedia for educational and training purposes is now available onto the Play the Learning Game project website.
The new Manual has been developed cooperatively by the transnational partnership through the revision and update of the contents of the former Manual created in the framework of the Learning Game project.

Forum for experts

The Forum for the discussion of the Manual on the use of multimedia and videogames for education and training has been activated and is being used by the project partners in order to provide and collect feedbacks on how to improve the contents.

Second Project Partners Meeting

On 25 and 26 May, the second project meeting took place in Valencia (Spain) at FETE-UGV site. All of the project partners attended the meeting to jointly evaluate the results achieved so far and to make plans for future developments. The databases of e-learning products and of videogames were presented and a number of improvements were discussed in order to be implemented. A discussion and transnational comparative analysis of the Manual produced was made. Finally a further analysis of the financial and administrative issues that were already presented at the first meeting was made and the expenditures made so far were checked in terms of their eligibility.

Play The Learning Game at the 1st Gaming Exhibition in University of Patras

Play The Learning Game project was presented at the “1st Gaming Exhibition in University of Patras”, held in Patras, Italy, on 17 – March 2012. Over 100 Students of the University of Patras and experts in the field of Videogames participated to the event. A specific discussion about the potential use of casual games in education and on the outcomes of the Play the Learning Game was carried out.

Play The Learning Game on international and national web sites

A number of articles and web-articles were published focusing on the Play The Learning Game project network on relevant web sites related to education and Training. For example, the ZML-Innovative Learning Scenario Department of the Johanneum University published an article about the project on their official web sites. Also, an article was published on the local webmagazine Portal de Xàtiva. More information about information initiatives on Play The Learning Game is available on the Dissemination section of the Play The Learning Game web site.

Learning Game Portal and Play The Learning Game Website now available online

The Learning Game Portal is now available in its new version, debugged and updated and ready to be used by the project partners to upload and make accessible the project results.
The new Play The Learning Game website is now available. The website will host the new version of the “Manual for the application of Videogames and Multimedia for educational and training purposes” and all the information about the project.

The Play The Learning Game project and the Learning Game Portal were presented during the Transnational meeting for Leonardo Partnership "Yes Employability".
The representative of the partners institutions, teachers and vocational training students were fully informed about the project aims and expected results and about the contents of the Learning Game Portal.

First Project Partners Meeting

On 12 and 13 February, the first project meeting took place in Florence (Italy) at Pixel site. The aim of the first meeting was to present the project objectives, activities and expected results to the project partners. For each planned activity, a proposed methodology was discussed as well as a draft of the format for the carrying out of it. During the meeting, the project partners presented their institution, their experience and expertise on the project’s subject area and their expectations as far as their participation in the project is concerned.

Start Date of the Nellip Project

The Play The Learning Game project, funded by the European Commission and the Spanish National Agency - OAPEE in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo Da Vinci Sub-programme – Transfer of Innovation Action, officially starts today. The project is promoted by FETE-UGV. Eleven organizations specialized in the application of ICT and Multimedia to education and in teacher training, in four European countries are officially involved in the project as contractual partners. The project has the objective to enhance teachers and trainers capability to use and combine Videogames, Multimedia and e-learning and in order to make learning more attractive and promote and enhance the involvement of pupils and trainees in Lifelong Learning.
